How do you prepare for a psychologist?

There are a few things you can do to prepare for a session with a psychologist:

  1. Make a list of topics you want to discuss. Think about specific issues or concerns you’d like to bring up.
  2. Make a list of questions you want to ask. This can help ensure that you get the most out of your session.
  3. Think about what you expect from the session. Do you need help solving a specific problem, or are you looking for more general support?
  4. Consider giving examples of what you're going through. This can help your psychologist better understand your experiences and how they can help you.
  5. Make sure you feel comfortable during a session. If you don't feel at ease, it's harder to open up and talk about your thoughts and feelings. Let me know if you don't feel comfortable during a session, and we can work on it together.
  6. Please let us know if there are certain topics you'd like to avoid or if you have any boundaries. It's important to let us know what works for you and what doesn't.
