People who have experienced trauma may feel a variety of emotions. This can depend on the type of traumatic event and on the individual. Some of the emotions that people who have experienced trauma may feel include:
- Sadness
- Anger
- Feelings of Guilt
- Helplessness
- Loneliness
- Fear
- Depression
It is also possible that people who have experienced trauma feel emotionally detached and have difficulty feeling or expressing emotions.
It’s important to remember that everyone reacts differently to a traumatic event and that there is no “right” or “wrong” way to respond to trauma. It’s normal to feel emotionally upset after a traumatic event, and it’s important to seek professional help if your emotional symptoms persist or if they’re having a negative impact on your life.
