Welcome to our blogs on all things health.

Specialized mental health care (GGZ) focuses on treating severe or complex mental health problems that cannot be adequately addressed through primary mental health care. This type of care is intended for people with severe or chronic mental health problems who require intensive treatment.

Specialized mental health care can also be provided to people who suffer from multiple mental health problems at the same time or to those who do not respond well to treatment in primary mental health care.

It is important to remember that treatments in specialized mental health care are often more intensive and last longer than treatments in primary mental health care. They may also require more specialized knowledge and expertise.

Are you unsure about your symptoms? Feel free to contact us to discuss them, with no obligation. Or discuss them with your primary care physician and, if applicable, ask for a referral to BrainArts. BrainArts only provides basic mental health care, but we can refer you to specialized mental health care based on an intake assessment and diagnosis. If your symptoms fall under basic mental health care, you’re always welcome to contact us.

This article also answers the following questions: What does specialized mental health care cover? What is the difference between basic and specialized mental health care? What conditions are covered by Basic Mental Health Care (Basis GGZ)?
