With your brain on fitness?
The more we learn and discover about the brain. The clearer it becomes that the brain is adaptable and trainable. Deficits, weaknesses and disorders can be solved or reduced by giving the brain the right stimulus. You can also train the brain to become even better at things that are important to you.
brain plasticity
Although the famous statement, “Neurons that fire together, wire together.” - by Donald Hebb dates as far back as 1949. Only in recent years has it begun to become clear what this means. The statement itself means that the more often you do something, the stronger and more efficient the part in the brain becomes where this action is stored.
the focus system
By consciously applying this property of the brain, weaknesses in the brain can be made stronger. And non-existent pathways can thus be developed.
That's exactly what Focus does, it uses specially filtered music through air and bone conduction combined with special exercises to shape the brain.
little brain?
The name Cerebellum comes from Latin and means cerebellum. The cerebellum is involved in an awful lot of functions of our brain. You could call it the processor of our brain.
It is not only responsible for movement and balance. But it also allows us to develop new skills. And can learn and use new words. Furthermore, it plays an important role in dealing with our emotions and making decisions.
The Cerebellum is only 10% of the total size of our brain. But it contains more than half the number of neurons of our entire body. Therefore, the Focus system targets the Cerebellum to provide the necessary changes be able to provide the necessary changes.
All ages
Focus is used for all ages. Even at age, it can be a very important tool to maintain and even improve existing skills.
In the end, we all want to grow old in a healthy and pleasant way. Focus is also used by top athletes, for example, to ensure even better performance.
Optimal performance
Because it properly uses the plasticity of our brain, it is also ideally suited to help our brain and body function better.
Special programs improve our attention, focus and how we process stimuli.
Deficits
Many disorders such as ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia have the characteristic that a part of the brain is weaker and less well developed.
The Focus system addresses these deficits with special programs.
As a result, symptoms and complaints are relieved and the brain begins to function better and better.
focus on the news
Here you can see a clip from U.S. CBC news about Focus.
In which parents and teachers talk about their experiences with the focus system in children with autism.
The Focus system
That all sounds great but;
Does it really work?
Absolutely, we have been working with it ourselves for some time now and are very satisfied with what it does. And we also read a lot about the experiences of other practitioners before we started using it. In addition, there has been extensive research on it, which you here can read.
Why isn't it known yet?
Good question, in the Netherlands it is still little applied because it is not yet known. In the USA, where it was developed, it is already widely used. We now have extensive experience with it. This allows us to help and guidance.
Will it be reimbursed?
With an official diagnosis, it can be paid for from a person-specific budget.
Sometimes arrangements can be made with municipalities. So that they reimburse part or all of it. You can often contact the neighborhood team for this.
We can always advise you if you have questions about this.
What do other people think?
The teacher of one of our young clients gave this as feedback:
It began to be noticed after a while that T. entered the classroom without the slight tension about what this day would bring again. He was managing better and better to focus on the work and stay there with his attention. Where before it was a work, with the accompanying tension, he now succeeded in getting the work done. As a result, his self-confidence grew and his school day became more relaxed. His motor skills also became smoother.
